Swiffer

Okay, now I love Swiffer. I have to say that I came from the "olden" days when mops were messy and moldy! Swiffer is a great idea! I love it, bought it, used it. There is just one problem and that is the engineering of this device to make the consumer have to go and buy it AGAIN! That drives me insane.

As you can see (somewhat) from the pictures, my Swiffer broke in a perfect little chip that made it impossible to use. So, thinking I must just be really hard on the equipment, I went out and bought another one. Well, guess what happened to the next one too!

Thank goodness the hubby is amazing at fixing things because he clamped the second one before the little plastic square (exactly the same as the first) broke off! As you can see the clamp works great.

I would love to hear if anyone else has had this problem with this design. I bought another one for my daughter recently, and she said that it is made so that it is all one metal shaft now and wouldn't break like that.

My question, how many people loved the darn thing and had to go out and buy another, just increasing the profits of a company that made a poor design. Does that mean they KNEW it would do that? Does that mean they learned it would do that?

Swiffer reps, where are you?

Thanks and that is all. Please let me know your experiences with this product. I still love it, just hate that it was easily broken!!

Spider - Orb Weaver

This spider is living on one of our back doors of our house. He has been there for at least a week. He creates a giant web. He looks darker than the picture shows. Also, if you notice, it looks like he only has six legs. I wonder if he is a rough and tumble spider and got in a spider fight and lost a couple of legs? Most likely, he just has them lying back against the other back ones and it is the camera angle. Although I took several shots and they all showed the same thing. I will take a closer look today.

I usually don't like spiders but I am growing an affinity to this spider. He is our Guard Spider. If anyone would come in the back door, he would scare them away!

I tried to get a good picture of him but it wasn't easy! I think I need to give him a name. I might just call him Orb for now.

My Sweet Puppies!

I love my Puppies. Bandit is outside in this shot, he loves going out. He is five years old. This is a picture of Chloe, she is the sweetest Pomeranian in the world (sorry Fran)! She is 3 years old. Chloe is my daughter's dog and Bandit is mine. Bandit is kind of grumpy, so he is a perfect match for his mama, cause I can be kinda grumpy sometimes. Chloe's has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have ever known. She just loves everyone, well, except she doesn't love other dogs. She really doesn't even like Bandit! She won't even let him up on the couch sometimes...!!

Bandit can do a lot of tricks. He can sit, speak, lay, rollover, wave, fetch, stay, heel and a lot more. He doesn't like to do it though and will growl at you if you ask him to sometimes. He is a big complainer! If you tell him "NO!", he gets REALLY mad! Also, he doesn't like teenage boys. He is a real ankle biter and will chase teenage/twenty something boys all the way out the door. My son's friends call him, "Devil Dog".

As you can see, I love my sweet puppies!!

Politeness

Whatever happened to politeness? We teach our children to say please, thank you, to be considerate of others and to show respect to their elders. I don't know that this is the way of the world anymore. It seems like the "squeaky wheels get the grease" in this society.
The children who are polite become young adults that have to deal with people who trample on feelings, personal space and friends like a doormat at central station after a tramp in the mud!
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The Golden Rule now has the potential to be the Golden Fool! When we believe that people will not steal, will not talk behind our backs, will not share our every personal secret, etc. |because| we won't or wouldn't do that, we have a rude awakening in the real world. High school doesn't end in high school anymore, now the bullies and the cheats carry their ways into the world, squishing polite and respectable souls everywhere they go.
"Do unto others..." has now become "Fight Fire with Fire". Because not many are left that understand the Golden Rule.
